If you haven't seen a Juan Siddi Flamenco Theatre Company performance, I highly recommend you do so.  It is not only the best flamenco dancing I've ever seen, but it's simply the best dance performance I've ever seen, and I've seen Baryshnikov, Nureyev, most of the major American ballet and modern dance companies, numerous ethnic dance companies, etc.  The dancing, choreography, direction, costumes, lighting, production, dance/music integration are just stunning. His theatrical approaches, new approaches to flamenco dance and his incredible choreography are truly an artistic marvel.  We are truly blessed to have him and his dancers in Santa Fe.
Randy Forrester, Gotta Dance, August, 2009
The controlled power, thundering footwork and blood-boiling music of this tightly knit company distills centuries of tradition into an unforgettable couple of hours. Choreographer and lead dancer, Juan Siddi, exudes an aura of alpha authority to match his unbelievable footwork, both in ensemble and solo presentations.
Bill Dunning, New Mexico Free Press, 2009
Solar windmills, photovoltaic panels, and Juan Siddi’s Flamenco Theatre Company, all sources of alternative energy off the grid. Siddi’s competent, courtly, intense and introspective performances before this year didn’t prepare Santa Fe audiences for the leap his creative freedom allowed, unveiling a fiery, nuanced sensuality, a dynamic and charismatic choreography, not seen in Santa Fe or Albuquerque until this season. The tall, graceful Siddi unveils a tender intimacy, unusual in male flamencos, expressed with his five, seasoned female dancers, and coupled with an explosive precision which renders nail guns unnecessary. The Company exudes power, earthy wit, confidence and duende… Siddi’s newly incorporated company has performed in Europe, the Middle East and the United States. Though his presence has been lively in the rest of the world, it is unique and welcome to have this energetic and superb company based in Santa Fe.
Eigner Dance Reviews, New Mexico by Janet Eigner Aug. 2008
His Flamenco Theatre Company’s opening night was powerful and pleasurable. Siddi showed himself to be a bundle of beautiful energy tempered by technique and taste. His work was alternately startling, seductive, traditional, and almost confrontational, but it was all of an artistic and creative piece. His endurance was phenomenal, especially in the zapateado sections of his big Act 2 solo, where his feet made sounds ranging from a butterfly-delicate tap to a hammering that sounded like the fist of God at the door.

Santa Fe Reporter by Yasmine Haldeman Oct. 2007
Juan Siddi conveys every emotion in his flamenco dance, along with five fierce, sensual women who storm the stage. Dancers, singers, percussion and guitar will take your breath away!
Colorado Springs Independent Oct. 2007
A highlight of the evening was the performance by principal male dancer Juan Siddi Aivar, “Juanaire,” whose brilliant solo whipped the house into a near frenzy. The artists percussive footwork was astounding, but it was his unexpected and unique gestures that created a feeling of suspense and emotional range. A sudden, coltish kick broke the repetition of the footwork, and after a difficult passage, a flick of his wrist seemed to say, “That was nothing.”
The New Mexican’s Magazine Pasatiempo by Teri Thomson Randall Aug. 2007
Juan Siddi’s solo built from slow, rising arm gestures, to long-legged, spidery prowls with his unique curving torso moves and some astounding percussive footwork that defined and dominated the musical accompaniment.
Albuquerque Journal by Jennifer Noyer Aug. 2006

Juan Siddi “Juanaire,” all in black, is an excellent Flamenco dancer, slim fitted and with pliant body control . His over disciplined performance reflects a strict physiognomy – picture of passion perfects the dance form.
German Newspaper Badische Neuste Nachrichten by Elke Schapeler Nov. 2005
Juan Siddi has the most beautiful hands I’ve seen in a long time, and they are unbelievably articulate…I felt like a crowned head of Europe watching him dance. …the way he saved his beauty of his lines for the most exciting parts of his dance showed a fine economy in his choreography, and obeyed the old theatrical rule—leave them screaming for more.
San Francisco Dance View Times by Paul Parish & Rachel Howard Jan. 2005
Juan Siddi’s rapid fire performance, in particular, was technically brilliant. He interspersed explosiveness with eloquence.

Juan Siddi’s Tientos causes goose bumps to raise…It is no mystery to me how Juan Siddi became also to the name “Juanaire,” he is a firework of temperament.
Flamenco Magazine ANDA, Germany by Klaus de la Lys Nov. 2001
Juan Siddi ripped with his dancing the audience from their seats...so it ripped the spectators by the performance of dancer Juan Siddi fully from their seats. His dancing completed the Flamenco spectacle, while his heels flew same-wise fast over the stage floor then the fingers over the guitar strings.
German Newspaper Esserner Zeitung by Tobias Heyne May, 2000
Dancer Juan Siddi fascinated on stage through grace and power. Juan Siddi stormed gracefully and temperamentally on stage, roused with thunder sounding steps a firework of passion.
German Newspaper Essener Tagesblatt May, 2000
Whenever Juan Siddi whirls in Flamenco steps over the stage, he escalates into a peculiar mixture of temperamental tension and southern eroticism that keeps even the coolest Central European spellbound.
